Sub 37 - Not every button and knob sending midi!?

Post by Padbangers » Thu Oct 23, 2014 4:44 am

Hi guys,

I finally got my Sub 37 and it's really beautiful but I'm dissapointed at the same time. I tried to map it to Monark and realized not every button and knob sends midi. Why were it developed so inconsequent? LFO 2 sends midi, LFO 1 not... what the hell?
OSC Volume sends midi, OSC on/off not, only two of the five buttons in the adsr sections send midi, etc. etc.

Can this be fixed with an firmware update? I bought the sub 37 also because of it's great layout as a midi controller. If it would be advertised as "partially midi sending interface" I would have bought a Subphatty cause then I'd to start using workarounds anyway

Of course it's a great synth but imho there's a lot of wasted potential when it comes to the midi part.

Cheers,

Mike

there are so many functions that there aren't enough MIDI CC numbers for all of them.

Go to MIDI Menu 3.3 - OUT FILTERS -
and set KNB NRPN/CC: NRPN

now every panel control will send an NRPN message, and if you can map things to NRPN messages, you're all set.
If not, then for now you're limited to the panel controls which have CC numbers mapped to them.

In the future, we may offer custom MIDI CC mapping for all the controls
then you can make the tough choices about which parameters get MIDI CCs and which don't :)
