Hey Guys I could use a little help with minitaur + Ableton.
I have it set up as is:
In MIDI preferences I have it set up in MIDI channel 2 with no Control Surface, no Input and Moog Minitaur selected in the Output drop down menu.
In MIDI Ports I have it with only track turned on in the input port and all track, sync and remote turned on in the output port.
I've tried tweaking this settings but got no where.
I'm having it as an external instrument just like the youtube video. I can play and record it but when I turn the knobs in the minitaur it doesn't record any automations. Even though when I turn the knobs the little MIDI signal meter, under the MIDI from of the I/O section of the minitaur channel, lights up.
I've tried a bunch of things with no success so I'm hoping you can help me. The weird thing is last year before I had to stop with the studio for a little while I was able to record automations with no problem.
Minitaur and Ableton Automation Record
Re: Minitaur and Ableton Automation Record
You need to enable de minitaur midi in with both, track and remote, in the ableton settings. Also minitaur midi out (unless you want to use the midi port from your interface)
Set the external instrument midi in to minitaur, or better, "All ins" (if you got a keyboard, that´s a way to record its notes together with minitaur automations at the same time).
If it´s all ok untill here, in the external intrument track, you should see the midi channel bar "blinking" when you move the minitaur knobs wich means it´s receiving data (Just like you should see that when you press the midi keyboard, or send any midi data to that channel from other devices )
Then select the external instrument track. At the very botton you can see more options, set midi out to minitaur, and whatever channel you set it to receive midi, at the app setting (1 by default).
That should do..
