PROCESSING EXTERNAL AUDIO THROUGH S.P FILTER AND RECORDING
Has anybody brought in external samples into there sub phatty processing the audio with the filter/multidrive then recorded that audio into a daw? I would like to take advantage (if possible) to put multidrive on my drum hits and percussion then record them back into my tracks. My audio interface is a rme babyface which has 2 outputs and 2 inputs. From my interface it would make sense to go from the output into the ext in on the s.p then from ext out into the input of the interface. I haven't got a spare jack so I would have purchase one but before I do I wanted to make sure this was possible and if so how we'll does this work? Thanks in advance for any help

It works fine. You just have to keep the gate open. I use a standard 1/4" TS adapter in the Gate Jack and turn the mixer controls to zero for the oscillators. From the manual ...
NOTE: You must press a key to pass external audio through the Sub Phatty. You also can use a Moog
FS-1 footswitch, or any 1/4” cable to open the gate. Simply connect to the 1/4" Gate jack.

not to thread high jack but I am having the same issue with my Sub 37-- I have tried running a track through the EXT IN from PT and have heard no sound...( I thought it was the babyface) So then I tried the analog drum machine I have and still produced no sound. I'm wondering why this is occuring...

When running external sounds thru the Phatty, you must open the gate as described in the posts above, AND the VCA sustain level should be set to maximum.

Sorry iv taken so long to back to you i haven't had time to reply...work e.t.c. I have finally purchased another jack and gone through output from my baby face to ext in in the sub phatty. Iv opened the editor and turned up ext input to max level, o/c 1,2,sub and noise are to zero. Within my daw (studio one) iv routed the ext in to the input of a kick track and armed the track. As i press a key on the s.p i can hear the kick coming through about 20% along with a very overwhelming white/pink noise sound? Is there something i am missing as iv been looking into this for the past two hours with no joy. Thanks in advance for any help again

I did a little recording last night running the Elektron Analog Rytm through the Sub 37 filters at the request of someone on Elektronauts, I did it in a rush so it's not the greatest demo, I plan to do another better one this weekend that makes use of the multidrive (I used it in this towards the end but thats where it starts clipping)
