So RL and Till,
Do you think that this will be hard to do? Any idea how long it might take to get Bob's face on the flash screen ? Will we have to wait for the next OS update? Sorry so many questions, I 'm just a little over excited about this idea.. Can't wait to see how it turns out..

Maybe Santa Claus will send it to us as present
And the "Zwarte Piet" in the Netherlands might deliver it even earlier on the 6th of december.
I know, adding a new start-up screen is a piece of cake to do for Rudi.

Oh dear.....that will surely put it beyond my capabilities then.....best forget it.till wrote:Kevin, but one needs to calculate the checksums new too!
I just figured that a stand-alone boot screen designer which could import and appropriately scale/render user supplied images and text would be more appealing than a hard coded picture.

I am not sure if turning off and then on again is more stress to the electric components then keep the Voyager running for 2, 6 or 16 hours. Maybe some Moog tech or Rudi is able to give us an advise what is better for the Voyager ?
I am not switching off my Minimoog if there is a break for less then 4 hours. But I am not running it all the time or when not in use at all (Yes, there are other fine synths I am turning knobs on).

I am sure. There is no surge current upon powerup in circuits like those that make up the Voyager, the worst thing for circuits like the Voyager's is prolonged heat. Synthesizers are not like computers or tube amps. When you are not using you're Voyager (or any other analog synth), you need to turn it off.

Unless something has changed, isn't there a problem labeling the Voyager as a MinimMoog product in the UK? I thought the product was sold as the "Voyager by Bob Moog" to avoid infringing on the guy who owns the 'Minimoog' name there.
Since Moog Music had to delete any 'MiniMoog' references on the hardware and in the manual in order to sell the Voyager in the UK, wouldn't a start-up screen have to conform to this as well?
