Mopho X4 with MF-104M Midi clock freak out

Post by Kraftfaust » Fri Mar 07, 2014 5:33 pm

Hi,

Thought I'd shoot this into the aether and see what came back.

I'm running Abelton with my Mopho X4 as the Midi-out device plugged in with USB. I'm Using the MF-104M with a Rhodes, but the Midi Clock is passing through the Mopho X4 to the MF-104M. Everything works great until I start switching patches on the X4. Then the midi clock synch on the MF-104M either freaks out and blinks red orange super fast, or it sporadically drops and picks up the midi clock creating off tempo wacky delay's. Anyone else have a problem with any other controller messing with the midi clock? I've turned off ALL the CC out's on the Mopho X4. Does the MF-104M respond to NRPN messages or maybe there is something else that is being transmitted that I'm not catching?

Thanks for your help :D

You're probably in midi note on mode. If, after you hit three keys on your x4 you start getting skewed clocking, it might be a conflict between automating the front panel rate clock and the midi clock mode (this is alluded to in the manual, I believe).
