Will you stay on this forum, if a thread about a improoved free OS is deleted by the admin?

NO, I will leave now. Maybe the Squarewave Yahoo group as alternative?

Deleted 3.1 thread. Ok ?

Post by Qwave » Tue Nov 22, 2005 4:39 am

This poll is about the deleted thread with the link to http://www.moogmusic.de/ where the free and new OS 3.1 is available.

This will be my good-by to this group.
I dislike what happened and the way Moog Music treated this thread by deleting it.

keep on turning these Moog knobs !

Qwave, I'd hate to see you go, you've been a big help to myself and others here.

This is Madness...

Can we please stop.

The world already can't get along.

Let us try and set an example.

I beg you all as Moog Voyager users.

Let's stop tearing each other apart!

Indeed! Let's all relax and give Moog Music the chance to respond. There seems no point in jumping to conclusions here.

I'm going to be the Devil's advocate here. Qwave, weren't you the one attacking FrankB for wanting a copy of OS3.0?

No copyprotection does not equal to being allowed to copy it

If Moog Music choosed not to release the OS 3.0 for non-upgrade, then it is just illegal doing so. I will not do things like this. But if others do ...

can someone explain exactly what happened here

Post by corkyburger » Tue Nov 22, 2005 1:03 pm

I haven't been here for a while and missed what happened. As a voyager owner I am keen to keep up to date on software versions.

OysterRock,
but this time it is a bit different:
the 3.1 OS is officially released by the person programming it. Why it is not released by the company that is paying him for the work is due to speculation only.
The domain "moogmusic.de" is owned by Rudi Linhard. You can vertify this by a whois query. Rudi did the work. And he released it. So it is legal to get _his_ work (= the new OS) from there.

The person who programmed it doesn't not necessarily have the rights to it. If I work for a company and write some software for them, I might not have any ownership of my work. Anyway, all this is irrelevant now that it has officially been released so let's all hug! :)
