Go with the X Station for sure. Novations are so much better than Microns and MicroKorgs. I have a friend with a K-Station that sound so much richer than any microKorg I've ever played. The X-Station is just a super K-Station. I don't even find these synths comparable. The Novation has great, versitile sounds. Waaaaaaay more features including mod options, another osc, a way better arpeggiator, etc. It also has tons of hands on control. Controll for miles. The micro is such a pain to program, but this has everything out where you can get to it. It also has a better display screen. The keyboard is shorter, but it definitely beats mini keys. However, I would suggest going the extra money for a X-Station 49. That little keyboard can be kind of limited, but of course if you already have a bigger midi controller this won't be a problem. Which brings me to the use of either one as a compact midi controller. The Micro just has midi. The X-Station is a midi controller, with controls applying to midi, and velocity-sensitive/multi-timberal keys with aftertouch. If you want to be "cute" with it, the 25 is still pretty cute. You made no mention of whether or not this will be your first synth. If it is, you have potential to get tired of that microKorg as you move on to better things. You will keep that X-Station for a long time.
No doubt in my mind.
X-Station.
For life.

PS - Did I mention that I hate all the prestes on the micro. They are all drenched in delay, or are arpeggiated.
