Hey there y'all,
I'm well aware of external boxes that convert midi to cv or vice versa. But I'm trying to figure out if I can use the Voyager as a CV to midi converter. I see people saying it can be done, but I haven't figured it out yet.
I have the cp-251/vx-351. I would like to send a cv LFO, like from the CP-251, to a midi device on my computer. Can I modulate, say, Mod2 on the Voyager with the cv LFO and have that voltage then output values from the voyager to my computer via midi out?
Thanks!
Voyager as CV to Midi converter
Re: Voyager as CV to Midi converter
The DB-25 cable that you use to connect the Voyager to the VX-351 carries the voltages from the Voyager so that you can distribute, mix, process them and whatever else. The CP-251 has nothing to do with that connection per se. The CP251's LFO is something separate, you might as well be using any LFO for modulation. So, you can definitely use that LFO for the MOD2 source but how are you going to translate that signal to MIDI once it gets in the Voyager, with nothing but the Voyager? Once it gets inside, you can use the VX-351's MOD2 jack, but again that's CV not MIDI!midilifestyle wrote:Hey there y'all,

I think it's much better to invest in an external CV/MIDI unit, ie. something like this:
