I don't get this from any of my other synths, but when I have the Sub pluged into my Focusrite pro 24 card, I get a whining noise, bit like you get from most USB microphones.
Anybody had this issue, it is a whiney electrical noise, not hum as such, sounds like processing. I kill a lot of it with a notch at 2k.
Any ideas ? don't think it is a ground loop etc as my other synths are fine ?
Sub Phatty processor whine noise ?

MacBook Pro?
Re: Sub Phatty processor whine noise ?
Is there parallel connection of the Sub Phatty to computer via USB?
If yes — plug off USB connector.
USB connection frequently gives ground related noize.
I recommend to use DIN MIDI connections instead of USB MIDI.

Re: Sub Phatty processor whine noise ?
Hi, I had a similar problem with my setup and I found out that it was related to improper grounding. The solution was to take off the two prong folding tip from the macbook pro power supply and plug in the original three prong cord with the ground one in the middle. The contact for grounding on this type of power supplies are made inside the fit, where both pieces meet (there is a metal circle that makes the actual contact to the sides of the three prong power cord adapter. It also reduces problems if you connect everything to the same power outlet or to the same ground. This way I can have everything connected via USB, audio and MIDI. Hope this helps! Best.

Thanks for the advise guys. I was using an iMac 2011, but it turned out I had messed with my gains by accident when monitoring with headphones.
I fixed the staging and it is not audible anymore. Sorry to waist your time but your advice will prob help somebody anyway.
