Possible to retrigger?

Post by MBlom » Fri Dec 20, 2013 5:13 pm

I've been playing basslines with my 104 set on one repeat, but it since the delay gets a bit dull it would be nice to set the Voyager itself to retrigger one or two times after I press a key. I would guess it could be done but at the moment a bit too lazy to investigate. ;) Sorry...

If anyone wants an example, check out this awesomelly laid back bassline:

A delay repeat can be simulated with an LFO set to sawtooth wave controlling the Filter Cutoff, or the VCA, while the Volume envelope decays...

You have to set LFO Sync to Keyboard (KB) so that it re-starts in sync each time a note is played.

Ok. But can I program it to retrigger just once? And won't it trigger as a press the key?

So what you're looking for is a "slap back" kinda thing, where only one repeat is heard ?

Any inexpensive digital delay will do that. For example there is the Behringer DD400 for $40 (about 25 GBP) that still offers 24 bit resolution and a very clean sound.

Exactly. Ok, thought I could make it without having to buy more stuff.

It might be possible to simulate a slap-back echo only with the Voyager, but I'm lazy and when I want something like that, I just use a delay...

you could use the xy gate to manually retrigger :? or a square wave from another cv source if you have it

Set a long release time and press the key again, as you said. Merry merry!
