OScillator 2 and 3 out of tune

Post by ModelD » Wed Dec 18, 2013 12:20 pm

Hi Everybody;
I have a couple of months of warranty yet, on my voyager RME

To keep in tune to oscillator 1, I have to set oscillator 2 at -7 and oscillator 3 at +4, to have the three oscs on tune.
Is it "normal" or I have to send in rma?
I don't want to keep my hands inside until it's under warranty..

Thank you very much for your support,
best regards ,
dan

Hello Dan.

If this is the case for all patches or sounds on your Voyager, it is probably in need of re-calibration. I suggest contacting Moog Music Support to see what they have to say about it ?

Thank you for your reply Alain.
I've tried only 3/4 patches; tonight I'll try more and I'll use a tuner to check the octave tuning too.
Thank you

If the display shows "0" for both oscillators, it is normal for them to have a slightly different panel position. This is the exact opposite of what you are saying though, correct? It seems like there should be virtually no beat frequency at "0" and if you attain this at -7 and +4 then that sounds like it may need servicing.

thank you for the reply Erick; yes you're correct.
there are beat frequencies when second and third oscillators are "really" set to 0, in the display.

Having the same problem here - OSC2 needs to be tuned flat, approx. -7, in the display for it to be in tune, and OSC3 needs to be tuned sharp.
From looking at the forums (and common sense) it sounds like a calibration issue. Wish I didn't have 5 major gigs coming up in the next 3 weeks...
