Sub Phatty Noise influences LFO speed
Sub Phatty Noise influences LFO speed
Hello everybody.
I have a problem with my new Sub Phatty. Whenn i turn the noise knob, it influences the speed of the LFO. That means, the LFO speed slows a little down when I turn the noise on.
Has anybody the same experience? Could this be a firmware ore a hardware problem?
I couldn't find this problem in tis forum. I hope someone can helb me.
Thanx and greeez
Joachim

I have also noticed this. Not sure i can notice this on all my saved presets tho. Maybe there are more parameters in play (combined with the noise) producing this behaviour. Don't have my SubPhatty here at the moment. Will investigate when i get it back.

Thank you for the answer. Interesting to here this. Would be nice to here more, when you get your SP back. Greez

I can confirm this.
doesn't happen all the time, but when it does damn it's annoying!

I've got the same issue...though, the LFO returns to it's normal specified rate after I stop moving the Noise knob.

Re: Sub Phatty Noise influences LFO speed
Hi, I have this too, but it only happens if the filter cutoff frequency is less than 5kHz, above this the LFO runs normally. Might be a bug. Hope this can be fixed on a new firmware. Hugs.

Re: Sub Phatty Noise influences LFO speed
Only happens under 5k? That is pretty much everything. The highest note on a piano is 4k. And that's pretty high. But I wouldn't worry about it too much, just turn up the noise before you set the lfo or save the level onto a patch. This is one of those things that only get to you if you let it. Actually you are like the guy who points out something annoying that nobody noticed until you pointed it out.

Have any of you contacted Moog tech support about it ? At least to let them know about this strange and occasional behavior ?

Re: Sub Phatty Noise influences LFO speed
Got my Sub Phatty back, finally. And i definitely have the same issue on my Sub Phatty. And as mentioned previously in this thread it seems most noticeable with filter cutoff set to below 5000k. Easy to repro with pretty slow square LFO routed to pitch.
The LFO is digital right? Hopefully fixable in in new firmware.

Re: Sub Phatty Noise influences LFO speed
It seems turning the OSC2 volume knob also slows down the LFO speed. This actually is quite annoying.
Re: Sub Phatty Noise influences LFO speed
Just heard back from Moog about this issue. They are aware of it. But they don't know if its a firmware issue or a hardware quirk yet. But they are investigating and will hopefully be able to fix it in a future firmware.

it would be really quite interesting to listen to this strange fenomena or ghost in the machine.maby this influences from the noise generator to the lfo speed could create a new module.you put the name.lol.i will try to replicate it on my subphatty and i will tell you later my experience.
