I had my Voyager RME fail within the first year, osc sync stopped working...which was fixed under warranty. A year later my right output died. Then my MF101 decided the resonance should be permanently at 10 no matter where the knob was positioned. Needless to say, I was pretty fed up.

What redeemed Moog for me was their high level of customer service, each time I contacted them with an issue I instantly received a very apologetic response/things to check/details of where to send it. The 2nd time my RME went in for repair, considering the past issues...they were very understanding RE costs etc. I think the whole board was replaced, and one thing I noticed immediately is the tuning is way more stable now. Either way, I'm happy...I love the boutique feel of the company, and getting a human response to issues.

Hoping for no more problems though.

Having a small arsenal of Moog products (33 and counting), I've had the normal occasion to work directly with Moog customer support. In each case, I have come away with new-found respect for the company. Are their products priced high? Yes. Are they worth every penny? IMHO yes.

The only other place I've seen this kind of customer care and support is with Kurzweil, another US based company.

been playing synth for over 34 years now, seen a lot of them, heard a lot.
overall no problems, especially not with moogs.
might be you have a special so called " monday morning" model where unfortunately all badluck things come together.
but to state that "moog in general...", or "all voyagers ...", etc is beyond truth to my experience

I have one of those "Monday Morning" models, except its the Voyager XL version.
I bought it second hand for about US$4000. Seemed in immaculate condition.
I have had it six months, including its time in the repair shop and only used it working properly one week. Spent hours trying to fault find and isolate problems, through playing and experimenting. Even reloaded sysex 3.5.
I live in Western Australia, 3300 km away from the nearest authorised Moog dealer or repairer.
Unfortunately Oscillator 1 died within my first week of owning it.
Andy from Moog music was very helpful and assisted my local, very well reputed synth repairer in fixing it, as far as advice goes. Diagrams could not be supplied due to product design protection, etc.
To send the synth to the east coast of Australia would have cost well over $1000, especially by the time I bought a road case.
The synth came back with all oscillators working, however having problems with LFO control. It is on regardless, even amount knob doesn't change anything. Only wave type and rate knob.
Mod wheel doesn't affect it, although managed to get mod wheel affecting parameters via patch cable.
The Pedal/On parameters seem to be working though.
Also not sure Filter ADSR section is working properly, just cant seem to get any of the to affect the sound as they should???
Maybe Filter section problem too, or related?
Ribbon and Pitch wheel work fine, as does the rest of the synth parameters, from what I can tell.
Anyone else had similar problems?
My repairer found a sloppy piece of soldering, nearly shorting out one of the chips/ components, which I have a photo of, possibly a weakness in Moog Musics quality control?
Such a beautiful instrument when they are working.
Wished Id bought brand new now, although, that doesn't guarantee problem free and I live miles from a Moog repairer/ dealer! (2000 miles).
