Save Presets F R O M Minitaur to editor HELP

Post by dance_mania » Tue Oct 08, 2013 12:59 pm

Hi,

As so many other users, I love the sound of the Minitaur, but have huge trouble with the editor.
Finally, it seems like I can save presets within the editor, then load these in the editor and then they´ll load in the Minitaur itself (although I haven´t saved them so far in the hardware).

But I really need help on doing the opposite, saving a patch that i programmed within the hardware, to the editor, to then be able to store this preset in the editor together with all my other patches.

Has anyone successfully, in Mac OS X (I am on a Pro, 64 bit Mountain Lion) managed to transfer a preset from the Minitaur to the editor?
If so, can you setep by step explain how to do this properly?

I haven't used the editor in a while but there used to be a function called 'grab' or 'capture' or something catchy like that. The steps were therefore: tweak knobs, grab from editor, mess with under the hood features for which there are no panel controls (optional), save.

Early on, there were issues with uninitialized parameters or saved (old format) vs new editor version format parameter causing weirdness, but I'm sure these are long resolved by now.

If everything is working well, the panel and editor should be in sync unless the two are not connected (or you turned some knobs while Minitaur was off :D hard to resist sometimes)

I haven't used mine in a while because my setup has been ever changing but I just got it wired up again this weekend. For as much modular gear and other synths that I have, nothing beats that tight bass and rumble... great product.

ctrl/command + C = capture.

Also if you are using the latest beta Minitaur firmware (v2.0.19) there is a hardware command to push all the current parameters out as MIDI CC data, which the Editor will listen to, if it is connected. This hardware command is: press and hold the GLIDE button, and while holding GLIDE, double-tap the RELEASE button.

either way, do one of these things, then go to the Presets page in the Editor (View menu, 'Show Presets' or ctrl+1)... click the Save button, name your preset, it will save the current settings that you just captured.

that should do it!
