Sub Phatty v2 update problem

Post by FROSTA » Tue Sep 24, 2013 12:59 pm

I have run through the steps to update my sub phatty. When i sent the second file to the sub phatty it stated in the update instructions that it would re start then go through an automatic tuning calibration. After i sent the 2nd file it did not reboot and the pitch amt, hard sync, activate oanel and lfo rate are still flashing? I need urgent help as i dont want to turn the power off, how can i safely restart the update?

I don't know exactly what program you're using to send the Sys Ex file. IF you're using the SysEx for Mac (and not the C6), please take a look if the program didn't unmarked your Phatty for sending the second file. This ocurred to me and was quite easy to perceive, since the file was sent within seconds...

I don't know what else to do to help you, since a lot of people are having problems with this.

Cheers!

I am having the same problem here. Any help would be appreciated.

I am also getting noise from the audio out. It is constant, even when the synth is turned off. I have tried it at home and in a pro recording studio an it is the same. It almost sounds like digital clock noise or something. I spoke with tech support and they said it could be due to the firmware update not finishing properly. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm having problems with v2 update too. I did everything according to instructions, including erasing the existing firmware. When trying to send the updater sysex file from C6, nothing happens at the Sub Phatty end. The LFO light kept blinking and the MIDI light which was supposed to blink, did not. Now my Sub Phatty can't even make any sound, only one day after I brought it home. Maybe I shouldn't have attempted to update the firmware   any help would be very very appreciated

Thanks, that helped me! After the first file it didn't seem to reboot but the Midi had stopped flashing and the 'Send ' button in C6 had gone back to saying 'Send' rather than 'Stop Send' so I waited 10 mins before loading the next file.

When I hit send the Midi button didn't flash even though the 'Send' button now read 'Stop Send'. When it returned to the 'Send' state it didn't reboot or starting tuning. That's when I cam online and saw your post. I clicked the 'Configure' button and sure enough it was sending to my soundcard. So I re-selected the Sub Phatty and hit Send again and the Midi LED started flashing, after a minute or so it re-booted & then went into calibration mode & works fine again!

Thank you! :D
