Moog in November Future Music (UK)

From the October issue of Future Music (UK):

"Next month (November, 2005, Issue 167) it's the Moog Special. Time to look at some new Moog clones including Creamware's Minimax ASB and G-Media's Minimonster. Will either get close to the real thing?"

There's a picture of a MiniMoog with this text. The November issue of FM will be out Wednesday, September 28th.

Since that issue won't show up here in the states until mid-November (or later), perhaps our Voyager friends across the pond can give us an idea of what this issue contains.

It normally contains a load of reviews tailored to the "dj" and loopmusic market IMHO. It has far too many adverts and not enough decent info. A Moog special that is all about plugins and how close they get to the real thing is exactly what they waste their pages on.

Anyone with a good set of ears knows that plugs don't come close to the real thing and never will. I know lots of people that have bought synth plugins and think they sound authentic until they hear the real deal. I'm sick of these tests.Plugins sound good in their own right but they aren't accurate representations of the real thing.i own several "moog emulation" plugins and they are cpu hungry and don't come close.

If you want the Moog sound there is no alternative but the real thing- we all know that here.

No argument from me on the value of real analog hardware. I was just wondering if any of FM's coverage might also include something of value on the Minimoog or Voyager. You'll get a chance to see that issue well before we do.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Sound On Sound magazine. Great, in-depth reviews and not a lot a fluff. Makes FM look pretty bad by comparison

Hi Greg - read it this morning on the tube. Its just a 6 page historical piece. Probably not going to say too much new stuff to anyone who is familiar with Bob's history, however, it is definitely worth a read.

Oh yeah, and it does not mention plugin's
