Octave Feature Idea

Post by CleverConQueso » Wed May 01, 2013 1:13 pm

It occurred to me that if the order of events associated with changing the keyboard octave was different it might make the smaller keyboard more playable. Right now pressing Octave Up or Down while you have a key pressed changes the pitch immediately. I imagine this behavior is a hold-over from when the octave selection was part of the oscillator circuit. Now that it's likely an element of firmware, I wonder if optionally effecting the octave change on the next keyboard press wouldn't make the little keyboard more playable. What does the forum think?
Thanks,

I like it the way it is, and wouldn't want it otherwise *in a monophonic performance instrument*.

As long as this behavior could be turned on and off, this would be incredibly useful.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this how octave changes behave in the Little Phatty? I always liked the way that worked when I had mine.

I believe you are correct, if my memory proves reliable.

Frankly, I would love to see this be mae an available option on the Sub Phatty. I see no way how it can do any harm to have it as an option.
