serious problem with slim phatty

Post by vipal » Fri Apr 26, 2013 5:33 pm

hello,

when i play a one bar midi loop, only once every 10 cycly or so, one note is hit while the midi sends out 4 notes every bar. so something wrong.
i checked my midi outputs from my soundcard with other outboard gear, the midi is sent. i can also see the arrow on the sp display.

when i choose the master button on the left side under the display, when i turn to the field ' keyboard priority' or smthng like that, the display blanks. no matter how i turn to scroll through the options it stays blank. i can return by pressing preset and master again.

i would like to once again install the last operating system. maybe its software. but i cannot find in the manual how to do that. I worked with other synths with midi dump, understand that.
but i cannot find a menu in the sp that says something like: 'receive update'. i can scroll to a menu that says ' send bulk dump' but do not find a ' receive bulk dump' option.

any advice here? do i need to bring my phatty for repair? any help really appreciated.

in the meantime, i found out how to update the operating system, did that, but nothing changed, looks like i can exclude a software failure. wondering if there are local options for repair, as sending it to the us looks expensive to me (located in the netherlands).

Check echo on the midi line. Disable Midi send from the slim in the options. I don't use a slim nor midi much (not at all), but your symptoms are like some earlier posts I have read about.
