pitch bend problem

Post by corkyburger » Mon Sep 26, 2005 2:33 pm

Hi there

Hope this isn't something that has been covered, i did do a search but could only find reference to the Pitch Bend calibration issue with 2.1 software upgrade. i followed the instructions in the readme but my Pitch wheel seems to be calibrated fine according to the screen and directions given.

My problem is that on certain patches when I hit the pitch bend wheel it changes/resets the overall tuning of the patch. This happens immediately after selecting a patch, as soon as I move the pitch wheel in either direction.

I am using 2.5 OS.

Anyone else experienced this?

Thankyou in advance

Nothing like this happened ever here.

Did you initialised the patches in your Voyager according to the upgrade instrustruction of 2.0 ?
Or maybe you did it and releoded the dump of the pre OS 2 version?
keep on turning these Moog knobs

I got a very quick response from support at Moogmusic, and there is a "bug" which makes some presets play back with the wrong root note. I was told that touching/moving the pitch wheel should remove this error - and it does. Just loading a few of the presets and touching the pitch wheel made them play back with the right pitch.

This seems to be the problem that I have. The pitch is wrong in the first place and moving the pitch wheel is setting it correctly.

I had this problem on my Electric Blue, and it turned out to be some of the patches I was using. Some of the older groups of patches I tried from the Moog site displayed this problem (on every patch with pitch bend enabled). I had saved off the original patches in the editor, and when I reloaded them everything was fine. I have tried several other groups of patches (including the stuff for the expanded rack someone posted), and they do not display this problem, just some of the older groups of patches.

Hope you have the same problem since it's easy to solve.

Thanks,
Tom
