Agreed, a bit lame on Moog's part.

Kind of defeats the whole purpose of having a full-featured synth app that could be used on the go, anytime, anywhere.

So much for using it while traveling... :?

It is disappointing to have to be logged in to use the four track. There will be times when Internet access is not available. Hopefully this will be addressed in. Future update.

 just checked, no wifi - no 4track
So the app is 'phoning home' on every launch?
As I understand it: paying for the 4track solves this, but they still got the registration details...

P.S: small bug, pressing delete in the 4track project browser while there are no files crashes the app.

I checked it too. It's nice of them to provide the 4 track but some explanation should be given for the "network only" disabler. are they asserting a right to the files produced along with the right to use rhe 4track? Scary if you think about it.

You don't need it anymore. Apple just updated GarageBand with Audiobus! :D
Can it get any better than this??

Cheers!!

I would like to believe that this 4 track disabling if not connected online is a big boo-boo on Moog's part. To cripple an App simply because the user is not connected to the internet is simply ridiculous. The majority of the time that I use Animoog is away from an internet connection...

Good point. Thanks to Audiobus, we have a choice of Auria, Meteor, and Garageband for multitrack recording of Animoog audio. With those three to choose from, we had little incentive already to spend another $5 for Moog's add-on 4-track recorder, and now with this "no airplane mode" restriction, we have no incentive at all to buy this thing.

Hi guys! Allow me to confirm that requiring you to be online to use the 4track was a complete mistake!

We were always online when testing this feature, just by coincidence and because the net is (almost) omnipresent these days.

We're working on a fix now; in the next update your 4track registration status will be stored in the keychain for offline use, just like it was intended from the beginning.

The unlock was supposed to be a permanent one-time thing... we'll make sure it is that way in the next update. Thanks, and be sure to let anyone else who is upset about this know that it was a mistake which we will correct as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Amos

Many thanks to a great company that lives up to the ethics and values of its namesake founder.
