The order doesn't matter. The resulting sound is the same regardless of how the filters are placed. What does matter here are the Voyager Filter Pole parameters. In LP/HP mode, Filter A is the lowpass, and Filter B is the highpass.
When you select the LP/HP filter mode on the Voyager, the filters are placed in series, creating a bandpass filter. Because both filters are in series, the output becomes mono. In LP/HP mode, the filter Frequency control sets the center frequency (Fc) of the bandpass filter and the Spacing control adjusts the width of the passband. The Resonance control affects the peak of the filter for the LP only. By adjusting these controls along with the filter poles, you get various bandpass responses.

The selection of the filters as 1-, 2-, 3- or 4-pole response is only in dual lowpass mode or for all filter modes?

It's only for lowpass filters. In LowPass/LowPass you have two filters that can have their poles adjusted: A and B. In Highpass/Lowpass only the lowpass filter's (A) pole can be adjusted.

Actually both filter poles can be adjusted. You can hear the difference when you adjust the filter B pole in LP/HP mode (try it!).MarkM wrote:It's only for lowpass filters. You know, I find myself taking a pole or two off a lot of my patches. On other synths I don't, but then again they aren't analogue. I've read about a lot of people complaining that the Voyager isn't as bright sounding as the Model D. I've wondered if the complainers ever tried adjusting the filters.
