MIDI Out not working
MIDI Out not working
I've got the Voyager midi'd up with an MPC 4000. There are no cabling problems or otherwise. I've troubleshot this all the way thru and figure there is an option or parameter I'm missing. The Voyager sees midi from other controllers, but won't transmit. You know how on the MPC 4000 you can see the incoming midi velocity on the main screen (Lower left)? Well, I get nothing with the Voyager. What option could I be missing? It has the latest software.

Yeah, that's on. I also scrolled thru every MIDI out channel and still nothing. It's not the MIDI cable. It's not the MPC as far as I know.GregAE wrote:Check the MIDI Out command in the MASTER menu. In OS 2.5, it appears as Master function 2.4 "MIDI Out ON/OFF" (might be in a different location in OS3.0).

Are your transmit and receive channels set up correctly? Don't want to teach you to suck eggs, but the Voyager's and sequencer's send and receive channels need to be the same.

Hello,
You could try:
A) Hooking another instrument up to the MPC and seeing if it receives. This
is to eliminate the 4000's midi reception itself.
B) Sending the Vger's midi out to a PC and by using the utility MIDI-OX,
check to see if the Vger's actually sending midi data.

LWG

After you have tried LWG's ideas (assuming they don't solve the problem), try changing the channel set up - a long shot, I know, but it may make a difference.

B=I hooked the out of the Vgr to the ins of a Protools MIDI I/O and saw no lights reacting to the keys. Looks like I have a bad out port??

Here's another app that you can use to see if you're getting anything from the Voyager.
