Hey Guys,
I'm having an issue with Pot Mapping in my Little Phatty. When using Pot Mapping INTERNALLY to control the Little Phatty's Midi CC#'s, everything works fine EXCEPT WHEN TRYING TO CONTROL/CHANGE ADVANCED MENU SETTINGS WITH IT. For instance, if I use Pot Mapping for "Resonance" (or ANY of the front panel controls such as Cutoff, Wave, Freq, etc) the unit seems to respond/operate exactly as it should. However, when assigning Pot Mapping for ANY of the Advanced Menu Settings, such as "Filter Poles" (or Filter Velocity Sensitivity, Mod Dest2, Gate, etc) the unit (Little Phatty/Pot Mapping) goes BERZERK! Basically, when trying to control ANY of the Advanced Menu Settings on the Little Phatty via pot mapping, it just doesn't work (specifically/only when it comes to the Advanced Menu Settings.) Instead of a smooth/dedicated change of values, it just changes values randomly no matter where the knob/potentiometer is positioned.
Anybody have this problem? Thanks guys.

Re: ISSUE WITH POT MAPPING
I think I got this when trying to enable the arpeggiator -sonce my LP had its push encoder broken.
I felt like it's because of the 14 bits because if you turn the knob very slowly, you can observe the values are actually passing very quick. Don't know how to correct that though.

This is EXACTLY the problem I'm having. I did go into the menu to observe the value change when I turned the knob, and yea the values change super fast and randomly, no matter what position the knob is turned at.stiiiiiiive wrote:I think I got this when trying to enable the arpeggiator -sonce my LP had its push encoder broken.

Thanks for chiming in Stiiiivee, I really do appreciate it! I see what you mean about the 14 bit, but like you I'm not sure exactly how to correct it either. My LP is still under warranty, so I'm going to go ahead and see what Moog can do for me. I'll let you know what I find out Stiiiiive. Thanks man.

Re: ISSUE WITH POT MAPPING
So I went ahead and emailed my Moog dealer (Rich @ Lunchbox Audio,) and he spoke with Moog about this issue. Here's what I've found out (for anyone interested)....see email below:
So, it sounds like you found a bug Zach that Moog needs to work on...take a look below--->
"Hey Rich –
Check out what our firmware engineer had to say. I think your boy, Zach, may have found something! There’s a suggested fix too, but it may not work. If not, the engineer now knows about this, and is planning on working on it for the future, though there is no committed timeline here.
hey that sounds like a bug! Pot Mapping is an original feature with the Phatty, where the Advanced Preset parameters are all newer, added in later versions of the OS. I might not have tested Pot Mapping to the new parameters -- I have some time set aside in the next few months for Little Phatty firmware update, I am adding this right now to my list of tasks to fix. Thanks!
Also, I'll try to find time to test/reproduce it sooner in the hopes there might possibly be a workaround… (maybe turning off Local Control? I doubt it, but perhaps depending on the circumstances it might help…)"

Re: ISSUE WITH POT MAPPING
Cool!
To be honest I though I was missing something. So I'm kind of glad to know this will be worked on as a bug. Thanks for your initiative, you're making a better word Moogmate!!

Thanks stiiiiiive. Yea, I'm happy to hear that they're going to revisit this as well! It will be very nice to be able to control the Advanced Menu settings via Pot Mapping....the less menu diving the better imo.stiiiiiiive wrote:Cool!
