how to trigger envelopes with guitar?

Post by kcabdeef » Thu Sep 08, 2005 6:19 pm

Hi!

I've been experimenting with the moog to amplify my guitar, but I'd like to be able to make the filter respond to the amplitude of the signal in a way that the envelopes get triggered whenever a note is played.

Now is there anything, some sort of noise gate I believe that has a CV gate output?

I think I can take the signal out of the insert and use it to feed such device.

Is this possible?

Something like this would do the trick...

I have one and when I run a guitat into the EXT In on my Voyager(filter) I can get all sorts of cool effects. It does take you into the world of modular synths too.

Maybe the Moogerfooger MF-101 too?

The Moogerfooger filter pedal will give you envelope CV out, I believe. The Sherman Filterbank definitely will.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon a Filterbank, and I use it as a CV generator all the time.

thanks guys!

So can the MF-101 envelope be triggered by a determined signal level? (threshold)

and isn't there any other cheaper option?
