Hello!
I'm using Ableton as my DAW and I've been following some of the setup materials available online. For example, this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgSVseNpDUU
However, I"ve had some trouble with the initial steps because
1) The Minitaur is not showing up in my external instrument device via pull-down menu. I WAS however, able to connect to the Minitaur by adding it to my Input and Output in the MIDI connection and telling Ableton it was an Oxygen Keyboard. After selecting the "Oxygen Keyboard" in my external instrument I'm able to see the MIDI light on the Taurus blinking in sync with the Ableton MIDI light when I send MIDI to the external instrument, which I hope is a good sign I've got that working.
2) However, I"m unable to confirm that (1) is actually working as I'm unable to receive any audio via USB. I'm also unable to find the Minitaur as an audio input device in my Ableton audio configuration.
I can try to do some routing with Soundflower to fix this, but I would much prefer to have this synth operating as it was intended to at the factory. Also, I would like to review the available videos as exercises, and not run into any further snags in that process.
Any advice regarding this will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Tom
Can't get Audio via USB from Minitaur
Re: Can't get Audio via USB from Minitaur
USB is MIDI only, not audio, on the Minitaur.
Amos is using an audio interface in the video you referenced.
I don't think any of the Moog hardware is equipped to supply audio over USB.
Moog audio is analog...

Re: Can't get Audio via USB from Minitaur
Thanks, Stuka!
You know, I thought of that with the signal path being analog after i posted this. However, the video didn't show any audio interface. Also, I recently worked with a digital synth that used USB for MIDI as well as audio so I thought perhaps Moog had some non-analog option built in.
Also, it was wishful thinking on my part because my MacBook Pro only has two USB plugs, and this would save me having to run more items through my the USB hub.
Thanks again for the quick reply!

You CAN run the Line out to the Line in on the Mac, if you have line audio input and a 1/4" to 1/8" cable, or 1/8" cable with a 1/4" adapter.

Minitaur, CP-251, EHX #1 Echo, EHX Space Drums/Crash Pads, QSC GX-3, Pyramid stereo power amp, Miracle Pianos, Walking Stick ribbon controller, Synthutron.com, 1983 Hammond organ, dot com modular.
