Anyone gigging their Voyagers?

Post by rockyoreilly » Tue Aug 16, 2005 1:08 pm

So after finally getting a voyager, I am ready to gig it.

One of the main reasons I bought it was it's tuning stability.
I own a prodigy that drifts like mad, in the space of minutes.

So has anyone had any tuning nightmares, or other issues
when gigging with a voyager, asides lugging it around?

Mine worked perfectly night in night out for a constant 3 months on the road. A 100% perfect live performance synth. Make sure you get a proper flightcase to protect your investment.

No problems here during a live gig that started on a summer afternoon and ended very late in the cold night.
Yes, you should use a flight case. Noone tries to transport a violin or cello to concerts without a special kind of "box".
keep on turning these Moog knobs

In a week or so I will be getting an AE Voyager. I'll be doing some light gigging and transporting it and other synths in the back of my station wagon. I was thinking of getting the ATA molded case. Does anyone else use one of those? Are they pretty good?

I used the molded case on a full 3 month tour, in the back of trucks and on planes every other day. The ata molded case was great. The only problem i had was one of the wheels was smashed off, but that wasnt on tour that was when fedex delivered it to me when i just bought it. Sods law!

Well, I ended up getting the big ATA case. Picked it up new for $250. It's huge and heavy, but I suppose in the long run will be worth the bulk. I must say it is really well made.

I'm too scared to gig mine!

Lucky for me any venue I might have to play out are less than a mile away from my house!

Each Sunday for the contemporary service I use an SE to bass lines for the "slower" songs. Not as radical as taking it to a club though :). Can't say that I would, only because of the smoke though. :)

Since it's a short distance I've been using the gig bag without any problems.
