Please let me know, I thought it might be how these things are... analog and all, under normal (low level) monitoring levels its not super noticeable but it is there.
Moog support thought it was acceptable, or I might need to calibrate my volume, but the volume works perfectly...
I did not want to ship it all the way to Melbourne to find out its fine lol

I have encountered this problem, too. The noise wasn´t there when the Voyager first arrived, though. It´s definitely something that has to be fixed.

um, how often are we playing our Voyagers with everything turned down, i.e., does this anomaly affect the actual sound of the instrument when played, with an oscillator or 3 up? I don't think I'd go through the separation anxiety of sending a Voyager off to get fixed for a problem that isn't noticeable when the instrument is in use...

FWIW, I have a Korg Mono/Poly that produces a faint hum and some low hiss, when all oscillators are off and the VCA envelope is opened, at full volume. It's hundreds of times lower than the normal audio levels usually coming from the instrument under normal use, but it's there nonetheless.
The hum is picked-up by the nearby mains power transformer inside, and the hiss is the normal noise floor level of old op amps used.
But as I said, it's really faint. If if was ever to accidentally have the filter self-oscillate or any of the oscillators produce a sound at full level while listening to that noise, I'd be deaf by now !

@filtered: Well, I noticed the noise when playing normal patches... then I dug deeper, saw this thread and checked if I could also shape the noise, which I could. It´s definitely irritating.

Hi all
Since my last post I have had my Voyager Performer sent down to Melbourne where it remained for 2 months waiting for Awave (Moog's Australia distributor) to authorise their repair contractors to work on replacing a line of pixels that went out on its screen and also take a look at the noise issue.. (Waiting that long was ridiculous IMO) ..Turned out Awave's tech dude was on holidays overseas and no one else could authorise it and no one bothered to let me know.. Awesome
OK so I got over that and finally 2 and a half months later I get the voyager back..
The techs said I had a faulty Osc2 (which they replaced with some new opamps). This was a suprise to me as I didn't notice anything wrong with Osc2 before it left. I had described the noise problem in my warranty form that initially went to Awave and to Sound Workshops (the tech) in the exact same way everyone else is on this thread (noise is audible when all Osc/Noise/Ext In are switched off, filter is completely closed and resonance at 0%). The hiss/noise was shapable by the VCA and in some minor (seemingly random/patch specific) cases the Filter EVG too (as some people have reported). It was most present in headphones but I could also clearly hear it when being monitored/recorded into Pro Tools direct through my UA Apollo (and I could even see a visual amount of it in the VU meters). It could also be heard from both outputs when turned right up in the PA..
The noise is worst when just one or two Osc's are on and mixed low (in the Voyger's mixer section) and I'm trying to make a super quick attach time with the VCA (1ms attach time). The pop/noise sound at the start of the note is loud and in my experience, unavoidable. The problem is really noticeable when the sound is heavily filtered and at a point, the hiss/noise, can be obviously noticed like a really loud noise floor. This is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT to me
I just cant imagine how I would possibly get just a pure (really smooth/heavily filtered) tone that starts as soon as you hit the key that doesn't go 'pop' and have a soft (albeit present) blanket of hiss under it. Surely the Voyager is meant to be able to do that?
Please can someone confirm to me that not all Voyagers do this? and that mine is possibly just from a bad batch or something..?
