Nice Moog Prodigy Mod !

Post by alphacode » Mon Aug 01, 2005 4:24 am

This will allow to control the pitch of osc 2 by the vcf ADSR. Nice with sync on!

Main board see from inside the synth
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sync Switch
o o o
o o o

Eg Amount pot
o o o

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now Take a 2 positions switch

Sync Switch New Switch EG Amount Pot
O O O O O O O O O
O O O _l l_ _l
l_ _l l________________l
l_______________l

this one
l
It should work , if not change the pin in the sync switch to O O O
O O O
l
instead of this one

sorry but can't remember , but nothing bad will happen ,actually on the other pin you'll control the osc 1 pitch :)

Good tweak !

Basically connect bottom middle pin of osc sync switch to middle pin of a new switch and another pin of the new switch to the middle pin of eg amount pot .

Anyone understand me ??? :)

I hope cause those drawings don't seems to want to appear correctly.

Try using full stops instead of spaces. You can also change the colour of them so they don't show up.

I may be wrong, but in looking at the schematics, this will send 12 volts to the output of the envelope generator should the pitchwheel be pushed forward.

Did you check the schemos before you did this mod?
No slam, but just because it works or works now, doesn't mean it's "ok"
Good luck either way though.

Yeah ,now i Remember having disconected the pitch bend from the sync mode so it pitched both osc with the sync on like with sync off.
True !
But othervise it worked like this for 1 year without trouble .
And like i said it might be the upper middle pin in the sync switch.
Anyone with the shematics will get the idea how to do it ,i spend some time on it. Actually mine had the posibility to select to assign the Adsr to vco1 or vc2.+ i added a led for the LFO Rate on the panel :)

But it was 3 years ago... mermory loss sorry :)

Mmm... this is true, but also the problem:

Anyone with tech knowledge and the schematics would mod their synth correctly anyways and wouldn't follow this mod above to begin with.

It's the people without tech knowledge who may follow the mod shown here, who will not mod their synth correctly and may cause damage.
Afterall, you yourself just remembered that your wheel was disabled previously.
Few others probably do too and not everyone comes back to a board or forum to find a correction later.
