Minitaur's knobs stop responding whenever USB is connected.

Post by 2re » Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:50 pm

Hi all,

Whenever USB is connected, or when I use my Virus TI as a remote controller, the Minitaur's knobs stop responding. The only way to get the knobs working again, is to turn the Minitaur off and disconnect USB before turning it back on. I have the latest firmware (1.0.7), and it's been like this since I got it over two months ago. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I replied with some issues I was having with the Minitaur, but apparently they didn't make to to the forum. I had the keys/knobs stop responding once, but I haven't had it happen again. I can't verify 100% if my usb was connected. I just had to unplug the power cord and plug it back in, and everything worked fine.

Similar problem here.

Mine is always connnected to my CPU via USB. I'll try without the USB connection to see if it makes a difference.

Not only will mine stop responding to the knobs, but it also loses the ability to play all but one note no matter which key I press on my controller. Disconnecting the power cable & USB was working until last night. No matter how many times I disconnected everything, I could still only get the one note and no response from the knobs.

But I don't believe I have the latest firmware as I'm having trouble installing it.

On a side note, I got a response from Moog regarding powering down. With no power switch, they suggest unplugging the unit. But I continue to see people refer to turning the Minitaur off. Are you unplugging it or is there another way to power down?

Unplugging the at the mains or the power cable is the only way. You may add a little switch to the cable as a beginners DIY project. But only unplugging the "wall wart" will save energy perfectly when not used.
keep on turning these Moog knobs
