Yamaha FC7 expression pedal - Does it work?

I’m looking for a pedal to control my MF-102. I’ve heard bad things about the moog pedals, and very good things about the Yamaha FC7. However, I’ve found conflicting posts on this forum as to whether it will work with the moogerfoogers. At least one person said that only a small part of the pedal’s range actually affects the moog.

If you have used one of these, would you let me know how well it worked for you? And if it doesn’t work well, have you found anything that does?

check out the boss fv-500h. just got it a couple of weeks ago and it works great. don’t know about the yamaha

The Yamaha works pretty well, also the Roland EV5

The Mooger expression pedal works great and it’s pretty cheap. The plastic used on it feels very light and I could understand if someone might think it was flimsy, or not very durable. But in my experience, it holds up just fine, despite it’s light construction.

The fc7 works fine with MoogerFoogers. It’s metal and rubber and is much more durable than the Roland or Moog pedals, but all work just fine as long as you’re not beating on it. They’re all about the same price.

Do these work with foogers ??
BOSS FV-500L /FV-300L
Behringer FCV100?

what about the foot switch, is it possible to use other brands or does the s-trig v-trig thing stuff that up

i tried to test my ernie ball volume pedal with the exp pedal section of my 104sd. i used an instrument cable split to 2 1/4" mono. i didn’t get a full range of effect, though. more like 2-7.5 rather than 0-10.

could be that i replaced the string in my eb volume and don’t get the range i think i’m getting when used as a volume pedal.

has anyone else epxerienced this problem with the eb volume as exp pedal?

and what about with the yamaha fc-7?

thanks.

nevo,
I use an Ernieball VP Jr with my sd, no problems with the overall range (I’m pretty sure I get a full 0-10 though I haven’t rigorously tested it). The only issue for me is that it’s exponential and not linear so the last 10% of the pedal sweep controls the majority of the range.

I’m using one of the Hosa, stereo-y cables (stereo jack on one end, two mono jacks on the other).

Now that I’m thinking, make sure that you have the correct mono jacks plugged into the input and output of the volume pedal, ring to the in and sleeve to the out (I think? try both ways though). I’ve switched them before and had a problem like what you’re describing

Hi,

I’m trying to use a new LIne 6 Expression pedal and nothing happens on any of my 'Foogers. For example, tried to use it to sweep the resonance on the 103, but nothing…It works when I plug it inot the KB Gate jack of the LP, but nowhere else.

Is there a fundamental concept I am missing here? Thanks

The Line 6 pedals don’t work the same way the moogerfooger pedals do. Try one of the other pedals mentioned in this thread.
