XL patch panel Vid demos / tutorials?

Hey all,

Besides the videos on the moog web site are there any vids that explain the patch panel a little more in depth?

YouTube seems to have a few demos but are all European…

I should have my XL next week some time & thought I would research it a little bit before it arrives, I know its some what a VX-351 & CP-251 combo…

taken from manual:

" Two important principles to keep in mind as you create routing’s with the Patch Panel:

  1. A source (output) always goes to a destination (input).

  2. The MULT should not be used as a mixer - never apply more than one CV
source (output) to a Mult. Combining two or more CV’s in a Mult can cause them to add together in a way that can be damaging! If you wish to combine several CV’s, use the CV Mixer."

Don’t completely understand this tip? is that the whole section? or one trough to three?

The mult is four jacks. It is used as a splitter, not a mixer. One input, three outputs. For mixing signals, use the CV mixer. You can plug one voltage to each of the four sections, and adjust each level to taste. You can use the - out on the mixer to send an inverted signal somewhere. Does this help?

Hey mate, thanks for your reply!

So the MULT input is the three jacks at the top with the white ring around it? and the three jacks below (vertically) are multiple output from the above input source?

when the manual asys “The MULT should not be used as a mixer - never apply more than one CV
source (output) to a Mult.”

that just means each vertical row of jacks can only have one input (top) and three outs yeah?

Dont want to fry my girl

cheers

You are correct. And you are most welcome.

Cheers Voltor, thanks again

Is there any thing you should defiantly NOT do with the patch panel when routing?
