I have a Yamaha sustain pedal attached seems to work correctly.
I will go look later for these two examples but lots of these patches do this as described.
Case 1) Hold the sustain down without releasing it and the patch plays 8 voices and then total silence. It will not play anything again until you release the sustain pedal.
Case 2) Same as 1 above but the voices cycle on indefinitely such as voice press 9 takes the place of 1 etc. as you would expect and they keep on sounding. This is my typical experience with all my other analog synths.
What’s happening in Case 1 when everything is cutting off? Or is mine defective?
Try it on the “HAMAMATSU TINES” bank (1) slot 6. After voice 8 nothing happens. Hold sustain and press the same key 20 times.
I‘m experiencing the same as you in Case 1.
It makes using the sustain pedal useless for me.
Do you have any patch examples for case 2?
Maybe its just a setting i‘ve not found yet.
The first 5 patches prior to the #6 I think work normally as you can watch the 8 voice boxes on the display fade in and out and exchange voices (new for old) as you play more notes. There’s some setting that prevents more notes from being physically played perhaps and I’ve even found that on some patches only 4 notes max will play even when 8 should be available. I think inside the settlings you can tell or assign a patch to only play 1 or more thru 8 voices but what does that have to do with the sustain pedal action? Maybe it’s in a group unison or mono mode as it will play up to the limit and then stop cold.
It may or may not be a glitch but Moog has not responded. Do they respond to such things?
Ok great so I guess some voices are designed without multi-triggering not sure why anyone would ever want that to happen. I can’t think of any situation I’d want voices to stop sounding.
brand new Muse owner v1.4 I dislike the sustain same as above ! On DSI synths there is a parameter ( KEY MODE = Last Retrig) that fixes this same bad behavior I had to pretty much change it on all piano type patches to get the sound to play well with sustain pedal. What is the equivalent on the Muse ? Please I hope !!
