What’s The Most You Would Pay For A MiniMoog New Or Used

There’s been the 2016 and 2022 MiniMoog Model D Reissues
and the Geddy Lee and Bob Moog Tribute Edition MiniMoog.

Also the original vintage MiniMoog Model D from the 1970s.
Prices for MiniMoog Model Ds seem to be increasing.
What’s the most you would pay :money_bag: for a MiniMoog Model D?

Newcomer here. I just bought a 2022 reissue for 3680 used. I also noticed the prices shifting upward so I thought I should jump on it. Glad I did! Expensive, yes. But opening the thing up you can’t deny that it’s a beautifully hefty and valuable instrument.

Congratulations :tada::balloon::confetti_ball: The MiniMoog Model D is sublime.

Difficult to say. Basically because I own a 2016 and 2022 re-issue.

Obviously 5K.

But probably more if I did not have one and had the funds available.

Used to have an original minimoog. But was sent out for repair and never came back.

Happy with the re-issues.

There’s a used Moog Minimoog Voyager Old School at the Guitar Center near me for $3,999. I don’t like that it doesn’t have MIDI or USB. I already own a Matriarch and a Sub Phatty. The OG Minimoog is tempting if it weren’t for the maintenance headaches associated with its old circuitry.

That’s cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: that you have two MiniMoogs. That’s a shame you never got the original MiniMoog back. sorry to hear that.

The digital part of the Voyager was never done right. The aftertouch never worked correctly. I have a Lunar Impact Limited Edition MiniMoog Voyager. They are rare.
Production run of 100 made. My Voyager drifts. I read on a forum that Moog used an out of spec capacitor that causes it to drift. I purchased my Voyager in 2015 when I heard Moog was going to discontinue the Voyager. I purchased my Voyager for $2.5 K. I’ve seen used prices
for the Lunar Impact Limited Edition as high as $6.5K.
I would never be able to afford it now for what they go for. The Voyager and MiniMoog Model D are different synths with different synth architectures. I like that the MiniMoog Voyager has stereo outputs and a dual stereo filter and dual modulation buss and sync that the MiniMoog Model D lacks. The MiniMoog Model D can go higher frequency wise than the Voyager and has more presence in regards to the higher frequencies. The Voyager can emulate a MiniMoog Model D but can go sonically places that the MiniMoog Model D can’t because of its modulation capabilities which are greater than the MimiMoog Model D.
