wah wah: filter or pedal?

hi all guys

well i have no experience with real wah wah pedal like crybaby or similar…so i would ask if for a good wah wah synth effect is more advisable work on filter cutoff and resonace or take a good guitaristic wah wah pedal effect
What’s your opinion?

They can sound quite different, largely because wah pedals are bandpass filters whereas the classic ‘synthy’ filter sweep comes from a low-pass filter (although many synths have other filter modes as well). If you really want a ‘wah’ kind of sound, it’s certainly worth trying the pedal.

Ok! thanks for share your experiences

wich pedal do you use with LP?

spin,

Had many in my time playing guitar exclusively, and the best (and only one I still use) is the Morley wah. Robin Trower, I’m told, used it. I used to play “Day of the Eagle” in this one band, and the Morley was indespensible for it. Get a hold of a copy of “Bridge of Sighs” by Trower. You won’t be sorry.

really thanks for your suggestion!

and little phatty’s users which wah wah pedal have in their arsenal?^^

Dunlop JH-1 here… Although, if you don’t already have an expression pedal for your phatty, I would start there. It’s cheap and gives you a lot of options.
