vx 351 multi

i just got a vx 351 and a cp 251 for my voyager. i understand the 351 has all the cv outs on it. what cv message does the multi out put on the 351? do i have to assign the multi? there are 2 sets on the 351. on the cp 251 there is an input on the multi and 3 outputs. can someone help me on this one?

A multiple doesn’t have a signal. You have to run one into it to get one out of it. It’s basically a splitter. For example you plug an LFO into one socket then use the other three sockets to route that LFO to three different destinations.

Just for your information, a multiple doesn’t even require power to operate.

I wonder if you can multiply a signal on the cp251 without it being plugged in.

I know that at least the Multiple modules from the modulars weren’t. Its just jacks wired together.

THe ones on the cp might be powered though because they will power a passive signal. The Vx I don’t think is powered because they don’t have the white rings indicating power, and a signal from the voyager needs not be powered anyway.

There is no ‘input’ jack on the CP-251 Mult (multiple). The four jacks are all wired together, and any jack can act as an ‘input’. The special Mult jack you are calling an ‘input’ is actually a powered jack for an Expression Pedal. If you plug an Expression Pedal into this jack, the other jacks in the Mult are used to distribute the EP signal, allowing you to control up to three parameters at once from the pedal.

ok, that helps me a bunch. thanks…
