Voyager's panel and power cord

I recently purchased an EB Voyager and noticed that the power cord plug catches the back of the cabinet if the panel is tilted back to its resting position. (I only noticed this after turning the synth off and using the dust cover). For those of you using a dust cover, do you unplug the power cord from the synth each time you cover it? I am mildly concerned that the plug bearing the full weight of the panel may damage the wood (or may incur damage).

But I am still in that “new parent” stage of owning this awesome synth, and am probably just overly-concerned

BTW: The Quiklok WS550 is a fantastic stand for the Voyager; it has my highest recommendation.

Cheers

I pull the plug out of my V’ger when not in use. However, I usually leave the synth tilted up. Instead of a dust cover, I put a large towel over it.

I extended the height of the rubber supports in the back by sticking additional rubber supports (may be found at local hardware store) on top of the existing ones.

This fixed everything.

That’s a good idea.

That’s strange. I don’t have this problem. The power cord isn’t touching the wood on mine at all, never has…

My AE does if you leave the power cord in and try and tilt the panel all the way back into the case. Any 1/4" jacks plugged in will hit the case as well.
The rubber feet is a logical way to solve this.

Great ideas put forth here. Thanks! I’ll try the rubber feet method.

Oops. My mistake. Turns out one of the L-shaped cables was preventing my panel from laying flat. Shows how observant I am!

Hmmmm, interesting defect. A simple fix, you’d think they would have righted it by now.

I solved this problem today by simply placing two rubber washers under each rubber foot. You’ll need slightly longer screws as well.

It’s a nice 84 cent solution.
