I’m trying to find a way to patch my Voyager XL to my Dark Time sequencer enabling my sequence to modulate key (pitch) when selecting a different note on my VXL. In other words… pressing a key on the the VXL changes the pitch or key of the sequence. Is this possible? Anyone out there tried this or had any success in doing this? How?
I don’t have a Voyager (maybe someday!), but you might try this -
There should be a way to turn “Local Control” OFF on your Voyager.
That should keep the keyboard from actually triggering the Voyager synth engine, but you could still use the Voyager MIDI OUT, connected to the Dark Time MIDI IN, to transpose the sequence.
Do you mean that if you set the sequence on, say CCGCEGCG and you press a G on the Voyager you get GGDGHDGD? If so, then yes! Just connect a MIDI chord from Out to Dark Time In.
…Oh, just realised I haven’t tried sending MIDI from the synth you sequence. I’ll try it tomorrow with my Voyager!
I bought a Dark Time yesterday and I love it! Very direct, thought through and seems well built. I’ll post a video soon on youtube where I show how I use it as a 2x8 controlling notes and delay, getting rythmic variation while keeping the main bassline intact.
In Germany, B stands for Bb and H stands for B. Thus Bach was able to use his name in one of the later fugues from the Art of the Fugue. (Bb, A, C, B).
