Voyager with low battery; Symptoms and Replacement

Hi,
I’ve recently replaced the battery on my Voyager EB.

Months ago on some patch names different signs appeared: / ? ) & ecc…

I saved my last patch. A month ago, after a month of not using it, at power up, the patch name was unreadable, just signs. Only PANEL light and no sound. I suspected battery problems and on the Forum I found something similar.

Hard Reset (-1 and +1) nothing. Boot System (ENTER and CURSOR) only if MASTER when light passes over MASTER.
Incredible. The MASTER, EDIT and PANEL menus were limited. By clicking ENTER, just a small line on the left.
I measured the battery: 2,87 VOLT. Kept on the first night: 2,89. And then: 2,95.

At power up asks for bank “C”, but the rest of the procedure didn’t work. Other measurements (Without opening it):
2,92 - 2,96 - 2,81. I ordered Battery vl-3032/gufn Panasonic. The new battery approx 3,2 VOLT. I replaced the Battery.

At power up asks for bank “C”, but this time everything worked.

Voyager EB is Electric Blue.

Do you know how long the battery in the voyager might last? I bought my voyager in 2015 used and have had it for 7 years now. I know it would differ depending on various factors but upon reading your post it made me think. Thanks hope your voyager is working correctly

Hi VCO,

My Voyager, bought in 2005, used little and unused for long periods.
Only now do I know what happens with Low battery.
Some say about lithium batteries not to go below 20% of charge.
In other Keyboards that I have, the Control and Replacement are different. In Voyager the only way is to see strange signs in the Preset Names.
Now my Voyager works fine with the latest Update.
