Hey,
I’m wondering if anyone has ever used or heard a Voyager being used to create powerful Trance and/or House leads. It’s obvious that this beauty doesn’t excel at that, and typically, when used in Trance or Progressive House productions, it contributes to the low-end of a track, as well as various sound effects, but I would love to be proven otherwise.
Any videos and/or patches?

I think the voyager does leads VERY well I can’t speak for house and trance to much but it can be smooth and mellow or loud and abrasive or anywhere in between
Cheers. I’ve only had mine for a week now, and have mostly focused on bass. But just fiddling through the Soft Lead, Bright Lead and Res Lead categories, I wasn’t able to find anything I wanted to slap on any of my tracks. This usually isn’t the case with pre-loaded patches on popular soft synths I had experience with.
Do you have any presets up, or perhaps a youtube video that demonstrates what you’ve mentioned above? I’m into programming my own sounds, but would love to get a taste of what it can do, just for reference.
I’m at work right now, I’ll see if I can load some up to sound cloud tonight or tomorrow. But one thing I really like to do is offset the filter poles (ie: 4 pole and 1 pole or 3 pole and 2 pole) to give it a lot more bite
yea haven’t gotten into under the hood settings yet, at all.. just panel tweaking. would love to hear what you come up with.

Even if Voyager is a very powerful synth it cant make everything. I don’t think it is suited for EDM leads (even if it can make such kind of leads), there are better tools with a different character of the sound for that (such for instance Nexus 2 etc).
Although you are generally correct - and the Nexus is a great source for EDM leads, it’s a sample-based ROM ‘synthesizer’ (more like a sampler). I would like to get as close to what the Nexus outputs, with the characteristics of the Moog sound. There are more suitable comparisons out there, like the Andromeda, for example
Well I just plugged a Freqbox/Ringmod into the insert point on My Voyager and got some of the most edgey gritty tone’s I’ve ever heard coming out of anything in the trance type areana
I do believe they were designed along with the insert to expand the Moog into this form of sonic territory
Actually, why I like Nexus is that it does not sound like the Moog, and the filters ares very different (and in my opinion very nice) to the Voyager. Therefore I would not feed the Voyager with a a Nexus signal, but let the Voyager make the Moog sounds. I consider it a strength with synths that sounds different to each other when making music - no competing in the sonic field.
