Having difficulties understanding what is happening here; please clarify I am on the right track:
The current sound can be ‘exported’ via ‘send panel sound’. This is sysex code.
If I arm a MIDI track in Logic [Exress 7], and send the sysex data from the Moog, it appears in the MIDI events.
Why does playback of the track not cause the Moog to load the appropriate settings? It is set to sysex 'enabled
I am getting frustrated because this would unlock huge creative possibilities, and I can’t just tweak until I have a radical sound to export to the DAW. So, why is the voyager not responding to the SYSEX information in the MIDI region on Logic?
hhat software version of the Voyager do you use?
The versions released since I got my Voyager about 7 years ago did all received sysex without problems all the time.
So it is not a problem of the Voyager software. And if Midi notes are played by your Voyager, then it isn’t a Midi Hardware problem on the Voyager’s side of the Midi cable.
So my guess is:
there is something wrong with a setting in Logic. Some software sequencers filter out sysex
some midi interfaces don’t like sysex longer then a certain real small data size
do much being send on the very same midi port while transmitting the sysex (test a track only with the sysex being send)
Check if your Voyager is able to receive its on recorded sysex by using a pure sysex tool (MidiOX for Win, SysEx Librarian for Mac are recommended). It should work.
