Voyager - Midi Controller

Im saving up for a voyager right now. But I was wondering, is the voyager a decent option for controlling polyphony soft synths? I was really hoping it could, because it has midi via usb. But i read that it can only send one note at a time via midi. That would be a bummer. if thats so, would i just have to get an axiom or something?

Voyager has no USB MIDI. It will control polyphonic modules but since it is a mono synth, it will sound very strange using it as a controller if the Voyager volume is turned up.

The Voyager sends notes polyphonic on the MIDI output - so it is no problem to control polyphonic keyboards.
Have fun,
Rudi

I also use the Voyager as a Midi-master keyboard for my Arturia Moog emulators or other soft-synthies. However a Midi-to-USB converter is necessary. I’ve got on from M-Audio for around € 30.-.
It also works fine with other hardware Midi instruments (such as Doepfer Dark Energy, Novation XioSynth or Yamaha QY10). Even the velocity (dynamic) function works great.

Once you get a midi box for it the Voyager works as a great midi controller. All the knobs put out midi data and so does the touchpad. It is not hard to make all the labeled knobs on the voyager match up with the virtual instruments knobs with midi learn (i.e. the filter cutoff knob controls the filter cutoff on the VSTi).
