Voyager Firmware update/Banks query

I have a 2004 50th Anniversary signature edition Voyager. It’s currently on OS 2.5 and only has one bank instead of 7 (looking at the manual, the names of the presets exactly match what is normally in Bank E were it a 7 bank synth)

On scouring the forums here and elsewhere it looks like it can only have the one bank installed, the reason being the hardware/motherboard. Is that definitely correct?

If I can’t update the number of banks is there any point in doing the firmware update if it’s been working OK until now?

I recently bought an early Voyager in really mint condition. Since I’m located in southern germany, I brought it to Lintronics where Rudi Linhard did a lot of servicing, including an upgrade containing the additional banks. Maybe you want to consider shipping it to him.

Hi…thanks for the response. That’s food for thought.

I actually know a guy here in Scotland who used to work for Moog and Oberheim and did synth repairs for them so I’ll see if he can assist
