Voyager as keyboard controller?

Obviously the voyager has a lot of control options for other gear. What i want to know is, is it possible to disable (by which i mean not sending note, gate velocity, etc info to the voyager) the keyboard from the voyager and use it to control another synth while sending sequencer information to the voyagers pitch and gate cv or midi in.
Thanks

Yes - keyboard local off

Nice! This is very exciting

Looks like someone is getting closer to purchase…

It will probably be mid next year if I decide to go with the select series, little longer if go with the xl. I’m really leaning toward the xl right now, it will hell transporting that thing but I figure it will be a nice half way point between regular monosynth and modular. And I am a sucker for control surfaces (I almost bought a kaossillator pro because of that) and with all the routings and patch points for the xyz pad, ribbon controller, keys and lhc it should keep me pretty happy for awhile.

Now the other dilema I face. Do I get the voyager (long time dream come true bu may slow me down musically due to tons of sampling of drum sounds, pads, fxs, etc ) first or tempest first (be more productive musically, but leave me gasing for the voyager for awhile longer)

I very much understand about the XL, I want one really bad also. But why not just get the Voyager/351 and the tempest at the same time?

I was going to mention the walking stick but i just checked the site and he has retired it to work on developing something new. Maybe you can find one used.

:open_mouth: thats a great idea. I like the longer keyboard on the xl too. Not really needed for a mono synth, but for controlling polyphonic synths it’d be great

THe reason why I want an XL is because it will go down in history as one of the baddest monosynths of all time, especially in this era of synths.

You only really gain an extra LFO and a ribbon controller and extra notes. I like the 61 note keyboard because you can do more with your phrasing, you can really compose your solos. I want an XL for this reason, but It’s very hard to justify it for these reasons. If the added pots were integrated into the patch memory, then that would be a whole different ballgame, and especially if you had the whole shebang backlit, then it would be worth it even moreso.

But, you will probably be able to get an XL in the future, and the price very well could drop. I imagine they will discontinue it because they had SEP 30th as the cutoff date to order an ATA case for it. They will be the new multimoogs that will pop up from time to time, so I’m thinking about it like an upgrade in the future when i get my license and have some moola.

In the meantime, drive to Nova and pick yours up in person for 2999 with the vx351 (for the select model) maybe an open box would be cheaper).

Now I don’t want to discourage you from the XL. It is a monstrosity! If your heart is set on that, fluxing get it.

My fear with the xl is that they will discontinue it and the used price will sky rocket and go from $5k to like $7-8k
