Using the MF-102 Ring Mod with Guitar

I’m fairly new to this pedal so I need a little assistance as to what input and output I need to be using on the back panel.

I am assuming that my guitar is connected to the “Audio In” jack and “Audio Out” to the amp. Or, (if using my EFX loop) amp Send to “Audio In” and amp Return to “Audio Out”.

If this assumption is correct, then under what circumstances would I use the other jacks for. Speaking for guitar only.

Thanks,

The nice thing about the MF-102 is yes…you run the guitar through the audio in, and audio out goes to the amp. The top jacks other than audio in can be used with expression pedals to change parameters, so you don’t have to kill your back bending over to adjust sweep rates or whatever. You can also run the guitar through Carrier In to use the carrier oscillator for some cool effects. Carrier out can be used to run a signal to other effects, or out to the amp for a drone kind of thing, or LFO out can be run through any of the inputs for some far out effects. Basically, experiment!

Becarefull if you send the CARRIER OUT to your guitar amp/fx because it is LOUD. you might want to run it into a mixer or volume pedal 1st.

'nother tip: microphone into the carrier in and guitar into the audio in. you will get the sum and difference of the pitch or your voice and the guitar

ColorForm, that’s brilliant! Microphone to Carrier In! I gotta try that!

Interesting about the Carrier IN tip. I’m wondering if I used the Audio IN and OUT for my Send and Return path of my amp and then pluged my guitar into the Carrier IN? :bulb:

Thanks for the tip

That would work as well! See? NOW you’re getting it!
