Unlikely Performance Tip In Sirn Manual

From the sirin manual:

“The Sirin’s audio input is not limited to processing
monophonic signals - it can work well for processing
polyphonic signals, too. For example, connect the MIDI
Output of a MIDI-equipped polyphonic keyboard to the
Sirin’s AUDIO IN jack, and turn the MIX level of VCO 1
and VCO 2 all the way down on the Sirin. Now you
have a polyphonic source affected by the Sirin’s
Filter and Envelope circuits - a great way to warm up a
sterile digital signal!”

This can’t be correct right? I don’t see how sending midi into an audio jack like this could possibly work. I assume it is meant to say the Audio Output of a Midi-equipped keyboard, but I just want to double check to see if I am missing something…

Manual error.

Error indeed. What you have to do is:

  • Send the MIDI-out of the poly synth to the Sirin MIDI-in for controlling it
  • Send the audio out of the poly synth to the Sirin audio in to process the synth signal.
