I’m a sucker for vocal filters and just got the idea that a Murf might actually be turned into one, even if it will probably be a less versatile than the ones that are built solely for that purpose. So, here’s my thought: a vocal filter consists of two or three bandpass filters right? That’s why you can “play it” with a two dimensional board, like the xy on the voyager. The vowels change when the frequencies of the band pass filters change. Haven’t been able to try a Murf yet, but couldn’t vowel-like sounds be made by turning some sliders up and others down? And if so, hos could one make the vowels change without being tied up by the predictability of the pattern editor?
I have had decent success with this, haven’t tried to make specific vowels yet but having the murf go into the lowpass filer with the mix open a bit, then going to the ringmod set to higher frequencies with the mix around 4 seems to work pretty well
Get a second MURF. A simple “yah” sound would be achieved having one going up and the other going down, but with the tweakability you can probably get much more interesting results.
