Trouble receiving presets

Hello,

I am having trouble sending presets from my computer to my LP stage I. I am running 2.0 and was going to upgrade to 2.1, but want to make sure I could send all my patches afterwards incase they were lost. I am using an m-audio uno for a midi-usb interface. I have had no problem sending from the LP to the computer, as far as I can tell. I wanted to make sure the info was saved correctly by sending one of my patches back to the LP in a new preset location.

In midi-ox I go to view=>SysEx then file=>Send SysEx file
I select a syx file from the menu and click open
at this point the LP flashes receiving something (not sure it flashes so fast)
then it returns to the preset that was there before I sent the file
The sent file is NOT saved to the preset location
The same thing happens if I go through actions=> send>=>SysEx file …

Any help is much appriciated

Also if I hit a note with the uno hooked up and midi-ox running I get a stuck note and if I try to change presets with the value knob the panel goes apeshit

Edit: Now the words “preset active” or if the preset button is red “panel active” is displayed below the preset number and name for any preset. I shut it down disconnected the midi cable turn it back on and the message is still always there. It was just a blank line below the preset number and name before I attempted to import a preset syx file. This really bothers me because it says to me that something has permantly changed in my LP firmware.

you have a MIDI feedback loop. Click on the “route 66” button in midiox and disconnect the (virtual) wire going from your midi input to your midi output.

you just want a wire going from midiox event monitor to your midi output.

that will fix most of your problems right there…

also, the LP is supposed to say panel active or preset active below the preset name, that’s normal. I am not sure why your LP would not have displayed this information before now.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Amos for President!!!
