I have a T-1 id like to sell. Its in wonderful condition, and everything works perfectly.
The contacts haven’t been cleaned in a few years, so it could use that. And, one slider is a tiny bit scratchy. If you have it gone over by an experienced analog synth tech, these things would be in near perfect shape. The only thing broken is the glass plate that covers the controls- The metal binding that holds in the glass has become unglued on one side. But aside from that, its in amazing shape for its age. Minor scratching, and great sound.
If anyone wants them, send me an offer. Id also consider interesting trades, preferably moog stuff.
of course, but they are very different things! Nothing can or will ever sound the same as the T-1, just like the voyager will never be the same as the mini. Better for some things, yes. But not the same at all.
Well unlike the Voyager, the Taurus 3 is actually supposed to sound exactly like a T1 - it has the same circuit design after all. Sure component tolerances and availability make some difference, but not a lot. It has all the T1 features plus extras. The Voyager doesn’t sound like a Mini D because it has completely different architecture and was never supposed to sound like one.
But, you can tell just from listening to the two of them that there is a difference. It is an inevitability with re-issues of any sort; just as you said, the difference is slight. But, some freaks out there care about that stuff. I guess this is sort of geared towards them. Or, just anyone who wants a T-1.
Either way, there aren’t many out there. So, if anyone wants one, I’ve got one im willing to part with!
Dont get me wrong, im not calling the awesomeness of the t-3 into question. I want one, too!!! But im just saying that there is a certain “something” about the old machines that cant be duplicated.
And, i hope you guys are all loving your T3s. If anyone wants a T-1, let me know.
I know for most people, that certain “something” probably isnt worth it especially when youve got to deal with 30 plus years of use, no MIDI integration, instability, and such. But im just saying, its here if you want it!
