Synth recording Part II

Seeing the information regarding recording Moogs on this site lit up a little light bulb in my head and I thought that I would pose this question to other synth/keyboard lovers.

Long ago I used to use Opcode Vision as a sequencer for my MIDI set up. I have been out of keyboards for a while now and have recently gotten back into them. Opcode is gone, my old Mac no longer works, so it is time to start fresh.

Not being able to pay for all the great synths, samplers, effects, etc. that are on the market (kid in college, mortgage to pay, you know the drill) I have been playing around with Reason. Kind of a cool program that doesn’t cost a lot of money.

Now I want to get out of the Reason environment and import my Reason files into another digital recording/sequencing software. I still want to use my MiniMoog, and my other synths on the recordings, as well as throw in guitar, voice, etc.

I was thinking about Cubase, but Ableton Live4 was suggested to me and I am impressed with it based on my playing with the demo.

Anybody have any pros, cons, or other suggestions? I am sure that the opinions will be varied…

Thanks!!
