Sustain pedal popping

I use my Roland Xp-60 to control my Voyager RME. I have the keyboard split so I can play pads on top and bass from the RME on the bottom. I have noticed that when I press the sustain pedal for the pads, it sens a MIDI message to the RME which makes an audible snap…like an electronic short or something. I tried it with other keyboards and other pedals all with the same effect. It only happens when I am pressing a key that triggers the Moog. If I just press the pedal, it makes no snap.

Any ideas??

Not on my RME - is that noise/snap on all presets?

Yes…all presets.

I found a work-around. I programmed the Xp-60 to not send sustain info through the MIDI out, so at least I found a work-around. It would be nice to know what the deal is though.

Is it the same noise when you change the release on/off function in the panel menu page 2.3?
